Our new Yorkies arrived during the night and I woke to them the morning of Sunday August 29,2010. I felt badly that I slept through it, but have faith that Raina would have awakened me if she had needed help. I was only 3 feet away from her. I am still sad that I missed it.
There are 3 babies; 2 males and 1 female. One male is large and may grow up to be on the large size. The other 2 are small and will probably end up around 4 to 6 pounds. The puppies had their tails docked and dewclaws removed today, Aug. 30. It is less traumatizing to the puppies when done right away. Mama had a fit over being separated from her babies for only 20 minutes. She cried and searched. When they were returned, Raina got in the bag with them to kiss away their boo-boos and give them a little milk.
